About the Association
Fifty years of looking after Mapperley Park, and the neighbourhood we serve.
What we do
The Association exists to promote the interests of members and all residents of Mapperley Park. We take specific concerns to the Council, including development in particular streets, public nuisance and crime, and tree maintenance.
Founded in the 1970s, we now mark fifty years of work for the neighbourhood. Our newsletter, open gardens and parties keep the community close together.
Speaking for residents
We work with council officers and councillors on issues affecting the area, from planning applications to roads and property matters.
Protecting the trees
Most trees in the Conservation Area are protected by preservation orders. We help keep the leafy character of our streets intact.
Community life
Open Gardens, Christmas events, the Jubilee celebration and a regular newsletter bring neighbours together.
Where we are
Mapperley Park is a leafy suburb of Nottingham, about a mile north of the city centre. Our boundaries follow the Mapperley Park and Alexandra Park Conservation Area: from Private Road in the north to Mapperley Road in the south, and from Mansfield Road in the west to Woodborough Road in the east.
- Conservation Area since 1976
- Built mostly over a fifty-year period from the 1900s, with a distinctly Edwardian character
- Homes range from substantial family houses and luxury homes to apartments and mews developments
Greater detail is in Ken Brand's An Introduction to Mapperley Park, published by Nottingham Civic Society. The Association has copies for sale at £3.
