The Mapperley Park Residants’ Association are hosting two community events this year.
The Mapperley Park Winter Windowland Trail:
This December, the Mapperley Park community will join families and homes across the UK taking part in the fantastically festive Big Neighbourhood Winter Windowland Trail!
Festive lights and snowy scenes, sparkly stars and Christmas elves – use your creativity and imagination to decorate a festive window in your home and together we can create a magical Winter Windowland in our local neighbourhoods.
Dates: 19th/20th DecemberA Google map will be produced so that any family wishing to take a look at the festive windows can follow a specific trail. If you intend to take part (hooray!) please give your postcode in a post to this event, or PM me. Final date for inclusion on the map is the 18th December.Christmas 2020 will be a difficult one for many people and we’d love to use The Big Neighbourhood Winter Wonderland Trail to help spread the festive cheer. If, when you do take part either by putting up your festive window display or following the trail in December, you would consider making a donation to our local food bank (Sherwood Methodist church 10 – 12 am on a Wednesday.) Together we can create a brighter Christmas for families most in need.
The Mapperley Park Christmas Jingle: On Christmas Eve at 6pm we ask that our community come outside onto their doorsteps, gardens or front porches and ring a bell for two minutes to spread Christmas spirit and to help Santa fly his sleigh.
Lets move to the end of 2020 with a bit of magic, hope and togetherness!
