As discussed at the AGM the roundabout in Mapperly Park will soon get a make over and not be quite the eyesore that it is. In the mean time the council have given us access to some planters and and bulbs and we have planting! Maybe not everyone’s choice but this looks better than the previous arrangement and it’s sustainable until we get the big project underway. We have Euonymus in the centre, perennial dwarf cistus in the four corners and French marigolds in the areas in between. We will replace the marigolds in the Autumn with pansies and plant some bulbs for next Spring. A special thanks needs to go to Francis and Carole Reeson who helped with the planting and a good luck to Mike and June who will be representing the residents in discussions with the council on what exactly the new roundabout should look like and hat should be planted.
